Linden Town Council workers to get 10% wages hike from September 1

The over 100 workers of the Linden Mayor and Town Council (LM&TC) will receive a 10 percent wage increase effective from September 1, 2017.

Mayor of Linden Carwyn Holland said after many years, workers will now benefit from the 10 percent increase in their wages.

The employees were unable to receive an increase earlier due to financial constraints on the municipality, and other projects that were being executed.

The salary increase for the workers will be effective across the board and will bring some workers up to the minimum wage.

The Mayor said he hopes the move will make life a little more comfortable for the workers. The Linden Town Council has been putting several systems in place to improve the lives of workers and residents of the community.

The Council has been moving swiftly to clear several debts that greeted it following the last local government elections.
