The young man appeared in Court on Thursday and pleaded not guilty to the charge that he had 80 grams of marijuana in his possession for the purpose of trafficking.

The 22-year-old Lusignan Prison data entry clerk who was busted with a quantity of marijuana in an Ensure drink bottle has been charged for drug trafficking.

The young man Joshua Sookdeo appeared in Court on Thursday and pleaded not guilty to the charge that he had 80 grams of marijuana in his possession for the purpose of trafficking.

He was granted $50,000 bail and ordered to return to Court on the 8th July.

Sookdeo was heading into his job at the Lusignan Prison when a mandatory search of his bag unearthed the marijuana filled Ensure bottle.

He was immediately taken into custody. The young man has only been on the job for the past two months and previously worked at the Guyana Revenue Authority.
