Police investigators in Region Three are probing the murder of a 34-year-old man, identified as Linsford Duguid.

Three Venezuelan nationals are suspected of murdering the man after he attacked a Venezuelan woman.

A police statement said the incident occurred at De Kinderen on the West Coast of Demerara early on Sunday morning.

An eyewitness told investigators that moments after the 34-year-old man was seen dragging a Venezuelan woman by her hair from a property in the area, he got into a fight with two other Venezuelan nationals and the fight landed all of them in a drain.

The eyewitness said one of the women was seen with a knife stabbing at the man’s leg while he was fighting with a man.

A third man later turned up with a cutlass and slashed the man to the head and body.  They were later seen with a rope tying his feet together.

The dead man’s body was discovered in the drain with several chop wounds and his feet still tied. Police investigators took a number of statements at the scene. The Police found the murder weapon and items belonging to the dead man, but the three suspects could not be located.

Their identities have been revealed to the investigators. The probe is ongoing.
