Police investigators up to late Saturday night were interviewing a number of persons in the Eccles area on the East Bank of Demerara to see if they could be provided with any leads following the discovery of a man’s body on the Eccles Industrial site access road.

The man who was still to be identified was dressed in a blue denim jeans and jacket along with a white t-shirt. He was also wearing a khaki cap. Just after 9′ o’clock on Saturday night, the police received a call the motionless body of a man was spotted on the roadway. When investigators arrived, they realised that the man had been shot to the head.

Some persons in the area believe that his body may have been dumped there since they did not hear any gunshot during the course of the evening and persons who traversed the roadway moments before the body was found said they saw nothing strange.

The body is at a funeral home awaiting proper identification. Investigations are ongoing.
