Police in East Canje, Berbice, are investigating the shooting death of a 29-year-old man who has been identified as Ramraj basdeo and who lives in the East Canje area.

The man was allegedly murdered by the husband  of  a woman that he reportedly shared a relationship with.

The incident took place on Sunday. The woman was reportedly badly assaulted by her husband just before he shot the man dead.

Reports indicate that the assailant had gotten word that his wife was being unfaithful and managed to track the woman and her lover down. A number of persons witnessed the incident and are assisting the police with their investigation. The assailant is still to be arrested.
