Man shot after being robbed of $3 Million cash

A 29-year-old man who attempted to fight off two armed bandits after they grabbed his bag with $3 million cash, is now nursing a gunshot wound to his right thigh.

The man was walking along Urquart Street close to the Ministry of Finance when he realised he was being followed.

According to a police report, a white premio motor car pulled up along side him and two suspects, one armed with a handgun, exited and approached him.

The man ran to the Ministry of Finance’s gate and threw the haversack which was alleged to contain $3M cash into the compound.

The suspects went into the compound, collected the bag and were exiting when the victim tried to retrieve the bag from them.

It was then that he was shot as the men made their escape.

He was rushed to the Georgetown Hospital where doctors performed surgery.  A spent shell was recovered from the scene.
