A police statement said explained that on Monday night, Police ranks were conducting an anti-crime patrol in the Montrose, East Coast Demerara area when they noticed a blue Honda CRV parked at the Montrose seawall.

The Guyana Police Force is looking for a drug trafficking suspect who sprinted away leaving his Honda CRV with 112 pounds of marijuana behind at the seawall.

A police statement said explained that on Monday night, Police ranks were conducting an anti-crime patrol in the Montrose, East Coast Demerara area when they noticed a blue Honda CRV parked at the Montrose seawall.

The Police said as they approached the vehicle, an unidentifiable male bolted from the scene into the mangroves nearby and managed to escape.

The vehicle was checked and two bags containing several parcels of compressed marijuana leaves, seeds, and stems were found in the back seat.

The vehicle and marijuana were taken to the Sparendaam Police Station where they processed for latent fingerprints but none was uplifted.

The suspected narcotic was weighed and it amounted to 112.75 pounds.
