Police investigators are hoping to get information on two gunmen who chased down and shot a North Ruimveldt man dead on Thursday night in an execution killing.

According to witnesses, 22-year-old Mark Anthony aka “QQ”, was sitting in front of a yard when he was approached by two men carrying handguns.  It is believed that he may have recognised the two men and he made a dash for safety but was chased by the two men.

He reportedly was shot several times about the body by the two men, who then calmly made their escape from the area.

Last year, Anthony was arrested along with three other men and remanded to prison on a weapons and ammunition possession charge.  One of the accused died in the Prison fire and the others were set free after the Prosecution failed to prove a case against them.

The young man had been fingered in a number of questionable activities, according to persons in the area. It is suspected that his execution may be a revenge killing.
