Missing Berbice tailor found dead in #43 village backdam

Police investigators have moved into the area to begin their probe. An examination of the remains is to be carried out, with the hope of ascertaining a cause of death.

Missing Berbice tailor found dead in #43 village backdam

The decomposed body of a Berbice tailor was found this morning in the #43 village Backdam in Corentyne, four days’ after he went missing.

The dead man was identified as 57-year-old Floyd Austin of Empson village, Corentyne.

Austin was last seen alive on Sunday when he left his home for the Backdam where he farms.

When the man did not return home, his family formed a search party but the searches came up empty-handed.

Earlier today, a farmer who was heading to his farmlands in the #43 village Backdam stumbled on the body.

The man told investigators that there was a foul odor in the area and upon investigations, the man’s partly decomposed body was found and later positively identified as being the missing tailor.
