Local motor racing champion, Kristian Jeffrey, is nursing a gunshot injury to his right ear after being held at gunpoint and shot during a robbery in the wee hours of Sunday morning.

The young racer told the Police that he was walking along with a friend to meet a taxi after leaving the Buju Banton show at the National Stadium when he was accosted by armed robbers.

In a statement to the Police, Jeffrey explained that after the show, he contacted a taxi and it was taking a while to get to him because of the backup of traffic, and so he decided to make the long walk to meet the car.

“We decided to walk to meet the car. In the vicinity of Agricola, we were accosted by individuals with guns who proceeded to rob us of our possessions, including jewellery, phone, wallet. During a confrontation I was shot to the right ear”, he said.

He was taken to a private hospital where he was treated and discharged. The matter is being investigated.
