Two armed bandits who posed as mourners made off with the payroll of the Lyken Funeral Home on Friday afternoon.

The two men who were dressed in dark coloured jeans and white shirts pulled up outside the funeral parlous just before 2pm on Friday.

The pillion rider made his way into the office of the funeral home while the rider kept watch on the outside.

At first, the bandit who entered the funeral home started to inquire about the costs for the various funeral packages. As the employees started to provide information, the man who was wearing a blue surgical mask, whipped out a firearm and demanded that the funeral service hands over the day’s earnings.

The only money that was available was the salary for workers which was being prepared at the time.

The bandit grabbed the money and bolted from the parlour, making good his escape with his accomplice on the motorcycle.

The Lyken Funeral home has since released surveillance photos of the bandits, with the hope that they will be recognised and not allowed to rest in peace with the company’s payroll.
