Nagamatoo encourages AFC to dream big and make way for younger leadership

“This party is not for us alone. This party is for all Guyana. All Guyana is looking at the Alliance For Change. You make the difference, you provide the vision and you provide the unity and you provide us with the mandate that we must work in close unity with the APNU and the APNU+AFC coalition must become unbreakable”, he said.

Nagamatoo encourages AFC to dream big and make way for younger leadership

Vice Chairman of the Alliance For Change, Prime Minister Moses Nagamootoo on Saturday told the opening of his party congress that they must continue to “dream big” for a better Guyana.

He said the AFC is proud of the performance of its members who are serving as Ministers in Government. Many of them, he said, have found themselves facing difficult circumstances since their appointments.

Mr. Nagamootoo told party delegates that the trust and faith that have been put into the Alliance For Change remain in place. He said Guyana is in good hands with the APNU+AFC coalition.

He noted that the party must work towards getting more persons into its fold.

Nagamootoo also said he believes that the party must work towards getting younger persons in place in the party and to take advantage of their vision.

On Friday, Mr. Nagamootoo announced that he will not be seeking any positions in the leadership of the party.

However, he made it clear that “I am not going anywhere. You can’t chase me away. Though I may not contest any of the high posts of the party, I want to be here to see the younger fighters of the party play a bigger and better role”.

The Prime Minister said the party must continue to push for constitutional reform and ensure the code of conduct for Ministers is put in place.

He said the government has been working to change the face of Guyana and the AFC has been playing a big role in that movement through the coalition government.

The party congress opened on Saturday morning at the Vreed-en-Hoop Primary School.
