A 45 year old Guyanese man who lives in the United States is the latest drug mule to be caught in Guyana.

The construction worker who reportedly resides in the Brooklyn area and is a U.S permanent resident, was arrested on Saturday at the Cheddi Jagan airport as he prepared to board a New York bound flight.

He was found with just over 3 pounds of cocaine in the false sides of his suitcases.

The man reportedly came to Guyana for the Christmas holidays and was now heading back home when the bust was made by CANU.

Two weeks ago a similar bust was made at the Ogle airport. CANU investigators have been stepping up their monitoring of passengers heading through the Cheddi Jagan and ogle airports as drug pushers continue with efforts to get the illegal substance out.
