NGSA results expected in second week of September

Minister of Education, Priya Manickchand has announced that the results of the National Grade Six Assessment Examination will be ready on the 15th September.

Ms. Manickchand said the exam papers have been marked but there are the other processes that have to be completed, including placements, before the final results are made known to the students and the rest of the public.

The Education Minister reminded that the examination date was early in July and it usually takes about 12 weeks for the marking and placement process to be completed.

The NGSA exams are usually written in April, but the COVID-19 pandemic resulted in the dates being shifted over the past two years.

While schools will reopen their doors on the 5th September, students who wrote the common entrance exams and will be heading into Grade Seven are expected to begin their secondary school life in late September.

Over 16,000 students wrote the NGSA examinations this year. A total of 509 examination centres were used for the sitting of the exam.
