NGSA results to be released on Friday

Minister of Education Priya Manickchand announced this morning that the results for this year’s National Grade Six Assessment Examinations will be released on Friday, 9th September.

The Ministry had previously announced a September 15 release date.

In a brief statement, Minister Manickchand said students and their parents should not be nervous, since all schools will be “teaching and delivering quality education”. She said it is a commitment that the Ministry takes seriously and it will be monitoring the schools to ensure that quality of education is maintained.

The NGSA exams are usually written in April, but the COVID-19 pandemic resulted in the dates being shifted over the past two years to later dates.

Students who wrote the NGSA (Common Entrance) exams and will be heading into Grade Seven are expected to begin their secondary school life in late September or early October.

Over 16,000 students wrote the NGSA examinations this year.

A total of 509 examination centres across the country were used for the sitting of the examinations.
