North West man charged for stabbing friend to death during “rum row”

A Christmas hangout between friends turned tragic on December 20, leaving one friend dead and the other one in Court facing a murder charge.

Thirty-three year old, Navie Harris, was not required to enter a plea today as he was charged for the murder of his friend, Rondea Peters, who was better known as “ninja”.

The incident took place in the North West District, Region One.

According to the Prosecutor, the two men were having a “holiday drink” when Peters accused Harris of stealing his liquor.

Harris objected to the accusation and a fight broke out between the two men.  It was during that fight that Harris reportedly grabbed a knife and stabbed the man to death.

He was later arrested and charged. His next Court appearance will be on January 3, 2018.
