Police investigators in Mahdia are probing the death of a 26-year-old nurse from Linden who was found dead in the hostel where she stayed at Mahdia.

The young woman has been identified as Schenise Apple.

Her lifeless body was discovered earlier this evening, leaving family members and the nursing fraternity in Linden in shock.

Apple was last seen alive last evening when she wrapped up her shift at the Mahdia hospital and left for the hostel where she stayed when working in the mining community.

She was expected to return to duty this afternoon. When she did not turn up for work, an alarm was raised and the hostel was visited and it was then that her body was discovered.

Investigators were immediately called to the scene and have launched a probe.
