Parliamentary staff to undergo COVID-19 tests after Speaker’s diagnosis

Staff members of the National Assembly will have to undergo Coronavirus tests again following the Speaker’s latest diagnosis.

House Speaker Manzoor Nadir and three other members of his family have tested positive for coronavirus. They are all in home isolation.

This is the Speaker’s second diagnosis with the disease in three months although he is now raising questions about whether the first diagnosis was accurate.

News Source has learnt that a decision was taken today for all staff members to undergo testing. Back in September, the same staff members underwent testing after the Speaker’s now questionable diagnosis back then.

Clerk of the National Assembly Sherdel Isaacs told News Source that he has already underwent two coronavirus tests and they have both been negative.

The Ministry of Health is involved in the contact tracing related to the Speaker of the Assembly.

The National Assembly has no planned sittings at this moment.
