Police investigators are probing the murder of 55-year-old Plaisance woman, Ann Mendonca, whose lifeless body was found in her Prince William Street house on Friday night.

Police sources have said that from all appearances the woman was strangled to death.

It is believed that she may have come face to face with a burglar or burglars who decided to take her life during a robbery. There are reports that the woman’s house was ransacked.

 Investigators intend to question several persons in the  area especially those who live nearby to find out if they may have seen or heard anything strange during the evening on Friday. The probe continues.
