Police ranks in Berbice arrested five men early this morning in the village of Glasgow, during a patrol.

It was just around 1:30am, that the ranks pulled up long side  a motorcar that was carrying five men. A search was conducted and the ranks found an unlicensed pistol with 13 live rounds , a length of rope, a crowbar and a wig among other items. 

While the names of the men have not been released, their ages are 33, 29, 27, 26 and they hail from Glasgow Housing Scheme, East Bank Berbice, Angoys Avenue, Berbice, Pilot Street, New Amsterdam, Fort Ordnance, Berbice and Dazzle Housing Scheme, East Coast Demerara.

They all were arrested and remain in Police custody. The vehicle has also been lodged with police investigators in the area.
