Four persons have been arrested following the seizure of more than $300,000 in local counterfeit currency and Police investigators are hoping for the public’s help in cracking what may be a major counterfeit money ring.

The four suspects are all from the Crabwood Creek, Corentyne area and are facing charges of uttering forged currency.

They were arrested at a house with $320,000 in forged $5000 bills.

Based on information received, the Police investigators visited another property where they found a printer and two laptops that are suspected to have been used in the production and printing of the fake $5000 bills.

News Source understands that the Central Bank and Commercial banks in the Berbice area have been alerted about the forged currency bust.

Investigations are ongoing.
