Police kill bandit during Mahaicony shoot out

Police on Friday afternoon shot a suspected bandit dead at Good Faith, Mahaicony after a home owner found two men breaking into his house and summoned the Police.

According to reports just after 1 o’ clock on Friday afternoon, Mahaicony resident Veerapen Jebode returned home and fount that his home had been broken into and several items were missing.

The man summoned the Police, and according to the Police Public Relations Officer, as police ranks were approaching the home to carry out their investigations, they came under fire and returned gunfire. One of the suspected bandit was shot dead on the spot and the other escaped into a nearby field.

A quantity of items from the man’s house and a weapon were discovered with the dead suspected bandit. Police later arrested a man they believe may be the other suspect who escaped from the scene. An investigation is ongoing.
