Police investigators were called over to Leopold Street in downtown, Georgetown on Monday morning after several gunshots rang out during a fight.

Persons in the area said the fight involved about six men who are all known to each other but appear to be involved in gangs.

“I just see three of the men run in the yard and start fight with the other three and before you know, is lash to face and gunshots ring out”, one eyewitness recalled.

It is unclear what may have triggered the incident. At least two of the men were badly injured and have since been taken to a hospital for medical treatment.

Investigators are still probing the case.
