Known for asking questions, Anchor and Senior Reporter of the HGPTV Nightly News, Travis Chase has found himself facing questioning by the Police after he shot a man to the leg early this morning.

A police statement said Chase, who is a licensed firearm holder, was dropping off his girlfriend at her DeAbreau Street, Kitty residence around 4:30 this morning when he noticed a strange man in front of the woman’s yard.

He reportedly exited his vehicle to confront the man and came under a bottle attack.

“The suspect reportedly existed his vehicle and approached the victim who allegedly attacked and began hurling bottles at him from a bag he had possessed, which forced him (suspect) to take evasive action and discharged his weapon at the victim who was struck once”, the Police statement said.

The man was shot to the lower right leg. He has since been identified as 28-year-old labourer, Jimmy Ramgobin. He was taken to the Georgetown Hospital where he remains a patient.

The Police said he has no fixed placed of abode.

Mr. Chase was taken into custody for questioning and according to the Police, investigators have been provided with statements from witnesses in support of Chase’s account. His firearm has since been lodged and an investigation is underway.
