A pregnant 24-year-old woman was stabbed to death this afternoon in her C’ Field Sophia home and her ex-boyfriend is the main suspect.
Dead is Loretta Simon who was three months pregnant, according to family members.
The incident took place just after 1 o’clock this afternoon. According to reports, the woman was at home with her young siblings when she was attacked by her ex-boyfriend. A 9-year-old sister witnessed the entire stabbing.
The woman was stabbed multiple times to her upper body and collapsed and died on the spot, leaving her screaming siblings behind.
The ex-boyfriend who has since been identified only as “Terrence” is believed to be from the East La Penitence area.
The dead woman’s mother, Letitia Fields, told reporters that she was at work when she received the devastating news. The woman said her daughter and her ex-boyfriend ended their relationship several months ago.
She said their relationship was a rocky one since they were always involved in fights. When the relationship ended, the daughter stayed away from the man and started a new relationship a few months back with someone else, resulting in the pregnancy.
“I don’t know how he knows where I living because I don’t have nobody coming here, my daughter message me and told me she was going to cook…and the two little ones told me that he came and jump them and asked for some water and they give he the water and she was stand up by the door when he attacked and stabbed her”, the woman said.
The mother said even after her daughter and the boyfriend broke up, he continued to threaten her and that was one of the reasons why she kept far from him.
Fighting back tears, the mother said she is in a state of shock and disbelief and she hopes her daughter’s killer is found soon.
The investigation into the afternoon murder is ongoing.
