Public’s help being sought in identifying Sleepin robbers

Police investigators are seeking the public’s help in identifying two men who carried out an armed robbery at the Sleep In Hotel on Church Street, Georgetown on Tuesday night.

One of the men was armed with a handgun. It was around 7:45pm that the men barged into the hotel and held the Front Desk Attendant and other employee at gun point.

The robbers were able to cart off just over $90,000 in cash.

No one was injured and none of the hotel’s guests were in harm’s way.

The Manager of the Hotel, Clifton Bacchus, told News Source that armed security for the property usually turns on to work at 8:00pm, so he is convinced that his business place may have been monitored as the robbery took place moments before security arrived.

Bacchus has released video and still images of the robbery that were captured by his surveillance cameras. This is not the first time that the same hotel has found itself being attacked by gun touting bandits.
