A robbery convict broke down in tears today at the Georgetown Magistrates’ Court and pleaded with the Magistrate to reconsider his decision to sentence him to three years in jail on an armed robbery conviction.

Magistrate Dylan Bess did not buy the man’s tears and imposed the three year jail sentence after finding the defendant guilty of the armed robbery of a woman in Freeman Street, Georgetown two years ago.

The convict, Isaac Greaves, was placed in handcuffs and left the Courthouse in tears to be shuttled back to the Camp Street jail to begin his prison sentence. He was on remand since July 2015.

His co-accused, who was granted bail but was absent from Court today, was also found guilty and sentenced to four years in jail.

The Police will now be expected to locate the man and hand him over to the Prison Service to begin his sentence.

The two men were charged in July 2015, after being identified as the gunmen who held Sherlyn Martindale and robbed her of jewellery and other valuables totaling $96,000.
