School of Nations Director shot after hosting emergency meeting on threats against school

The Director of the private, School of Nations, Dr. Brian O’ Toole is nursing a gunshot injury to one of his arms after being shot at his Bel Air home.

News Source understands that Dr. O’ Toole was arriving home earlier tonight from a special emergency meeting that he hosted for parents of the school, when he came under fire from an unknown person or persons.

The shooting tonight comes on the heels of a number of online threats against the school.

The School of Nations is a private school that caters for students all the way from nursery to the university level. It is one of the country’s leading private schools.

In the past week, the school expelled a student after he threatened to shoot up the school in a social media post. The child reportedly has since claimed that he was making a joke among his friends, but the school took the matter seriously and expelled him immediately. He recently returned to Guyana after living in the United States for a few years.

Since that expulsion, at least two other threats against the school were made online and it was those threats that triggered the emergency meeting on Sunday night with parents.

School officials are said to be very concerned about the threats now in wake of the shooting of the school’s director and they are convinced its all related.

Police investigators are probing tonight’s shooting incident as well as the online threats made against the private school.
