One day after self confessed death squad member and former murder accused Sean Hinds, distanced himself from the murder of political activist Courtney Crum-Ewing, the Guyana Police Force is indicating that while he is not wanted for the Crum-Ewing murder, he is wanted for questioning in relation to another serious offense.
Crime Chief Wendell Blanhum this afternoon told News Source that Hinds has not turned himself in and he has received no information that he intends to do so. The Crime Chief would not say the nature of the offense that Hinds is wanted, but he confirmed that the offense is a serious one.
He said Hinds was never wanted for the murder of Crum-Ewing.
Hinds made his death squad confession last evening in an interview with the HGP Nightly News. He reportedly decided to do the sit down interview after he claims, he received information that he was wanted for questioning for the death of the political activist.
In the interview, Hinds expressed concern that a suspect who is currently in custody being questioned may have called his name as one of the men responsible for Crum-Ewing’s murder. According to Hinds, the Police may be looking in all of the wrong directions and he hopes that they will focus on two activists of the now opposition People’s Progressive Party. He is convinced that the activists may have ordered and funded the hit.
Courtney Crum-Ewing was gunned down back in March as he encouraged residents in Diamond to vote against the PPP.
