Loud screams of disbelief shattered the Wednesday quiet of Freeman Street, Georgetown when it was discovered that a security guard had stabbed his lover to death.
Dead is 24-year-old Shanice Lawrence. She was discovered with a knife stuck in her neck. Her reputed husband, Jermaine Bristol, surrendered to the Police at the Brickdam Station after committing the gruesome act.
Family members and neighbours cried out in shock as they tried to come to grips with what had taken place.
Some relatives recalled that the two were having problems in their relationship but they never expected that those problems would have ended in murder. According to the family members, the woman only moved out of the house a few days ago and that may have angered the man.
This morning, the couple got into a heated argument and when the argument ended, the woman’s dead body was discovered.
Investigations are ongoing.
