Police investigators in the city are probing a murder in the Sophia community.

35-year-old Selwyn Allen died at the Georgetown Hospital where he was rushed after being stabbed multiple times to the body on Christmas night.

The man reportedly lived in the Cummings Park, Sophia area.  According to reports, Allen and his girlfriend were walking through the community when he reportedly hailed up a group of youngsters.

One of the youngsters reportedly told him he should say nothing to the group and reminded him of an earlier incident involving a friend of the youngster.

A scuffle reportedly broke out between the two men, and Allen was stabbed multiple times to the body. When his girlfriend attempted to intervene, she was stabbed also.

She however, managed to accompany her injured boyfriend to the hospital, where he was pronounced dead. The girlfriend is nursing a number of injuries.  The probe is ongoing.
