According to sources at the Linden Hospital, the young girl has suffered a broken rib, a puncture to the left lobe of the lungs and stomach and damage to her spleen as a result of the stabbing.

The 15-year-old schoolgirl who was stabbed to the lower back during an after-school fight in Linden is resting comfortably after undergoing more than three hours of surgeries at the Linden Hospital.

According to sources at the Linden Hospital, the young girl has suffered a broken rib, a puncture to the left lobe of the lungs and stomach and damage to her spleen as a result of the stabbing.

The knife used has been described as a rambo style jagged edge knife.

A video recording of the incident captured the fight between two female students and the stabbing by the older sister of the girl that was being beaten.

The injured student was seen walking around with the knife lodged in her lower back before she was rushed to the hospital in a taxi.

Police investigators in Linden are probing the incident and charges are likely to be filed soon.

The Minister of Education and a team from the Ministry are traveling to Linden today to visit the injured student and to also host a meeting with high school teachers and students.
