The Berbice man who was the main suspect in the Thursday morning chopping death of female Police Officer, Kenisha Sheriff Fraser, has been found dead.

The man’s body was found hanging from a tree in the same village, hours after he was named as the main suspect, who chopped the policewoman to death in her house. It is believed that he took his own life.

He has been identified as Clayon Anthony. Persons in the area explained that he lived in the bottom flat of a two-storey house, while the Police Officer lived in the top flat.

According to neighbours, there was no known feud between the two persons and there was no known relationship other than them being neighbours.

The man reportedly made his way into the woman’s house just after 9 this morning and used a cutlass to slash her throat.

The incident has left the community in shock. The two were known to each other for several years. The police officer was well liked in the community. She was stationed at the New Amsterdam Central Station.

With the man’s death, investigators have been left stumped as they try to figure out what may have triggered the murder of the woman and now, the perpetrator’s suicide.
