The suspected mastermind of an attempt by a Georgetown man to ferry out more than three pounds of cocaine through the airport has been arrested.

The Customs Anti Narcotics Unit this afternoon confirmed the arrest of South Ruimveldt resident, Warren Stuffle.

He was arrested by the Police in the Region 7 community of Imbaimadai and flown to the city this afternoon. Stuffle is now in the custody of the Customs Anti Narcotics Unit.

The arrest came days after CANU issued a wanted bulletin for the man, linking him to last week’s cocaine bust at the airport when more than three pounds of cocaine was found in the false bottom of a carry-on suitcase belonging to a New York bound passenger.

That passenger has already been charged for cocaine trafficking and is currently awaiting his next Court date. He was denied bail during his first appearance.

The suspected mastermind is expected to face the Court before the end of this week.
