Thief nabbed in Church with woman’s bag during deliverance service

The Lord Giveth but the Police were called to taketh away on Friday when a thief was caught red handed at the Central Assembly of God Church on Church Street as he attempted to run off with the handbag of one of the worshipers.

Police sources explained that the Church was hosting its regular Friday delivery service when an elderly worshiper was deep in prayer but was moved to open her eyes just as the thief had grabbed her bag.

The woman raised an alarm and the man was tackled by other worshipers and members of the public who heard her cry for help. The thief bolted from the church with several church goers a few steps behind him as he tried to escape from them and any form of deliverance. He was eventually caught at the corner of Quamina Street and taken to the Alberttown Police Station where he was held for theft and will now be facing a court date although Jesus paid it all.

It’s unclear whether he ever asked for forgiveness, but the elderly woman whose bag he stole, gave thanks that she was able to spot him even as she prayed to the Lord.
