Three young siblings, ages 8,7, and 3 died tragically this morning in a fire that ripped through their small wooden house in Barnwell North, behind the village of Mocha Arcadia.
The children were left alone at home by their mother who was working the night shift as a security guard.
Police investigators believe the fire was deliberately set.
The investigators have issued a wanted bulletin for the mother’s ex-boyfriend who has been identified as Junior Cedric Dey of Sophia.
He was not the father of the children.
Anyone knowing his whereabouts is asked to contact the nearest Police station.
Between her loud cries of grief, disbelief, and loss, the mother Tracey Flue explained that the man had repeatedly threatened to harm her and her children after she filed a Police complaint against him for the months of abuse and threats that she suffered at his hands.
She said the two were expected in Court later this month for him to answer to an assault and threatening charge.
According to the mother, even after she filed the Police complaint, the man continued to threaten her. She said she became so concerned that she took some time off from work to be with her children.
Last night was her first night back at work and it was while she was on duty as a security guard that she received the devastating news that her house was on fire.
The small wooden house is located in the backdam with no electricity or potable water supply and impassable walkways.
By the time the mother got to the house, it was completed gutted and she was faced with the charred remains of her three young children.
She is convinced that the fire was set by the abusive ex-boyfriend.
“He said he was going to harm me and my children. He threatened me. He told me a time that he was going to kill me and bury me for no one to find me”, the grieving mother said as she was being consoled by a relative.
The woman said she was granted a restraining order against the ex-boyfriend and she saw several calls coming through to her phone from him last night, but she ignored them all.
“I don’t know why he could do such a thing to my children. He threaten me plenty time that he was going to burn down the house, but he didn’t have to burn down the house with my children inside, he could have put them out the house and leave them”, Tracey Flue cried out.
Confused relatives who live nearby hugged and consoled the grieving woman as Crime Scene Investigators snapped photographs of the area where her house once stood.
Opposition Member of Parliament Nima Flue-Bess is a relative of the grieving mother and lives in the Mocha area. She was grief-stricken as she made her way to the area where her young cousins died.
Together with the Police Commander for the East Bank corridor, Woman Superintendent Denise Griffith, they sat and consoled the mother and offered her words of comfort and prayer, as she continuously broke down in tears.
The investigation into the deadly fire is ongoing.
