The charred remains were found in the ashes of the Sixth Street Cummings Lodge property after firemen managed to put out the blaze earlier tonight.

Three members of a family were killed on Saturday night as a fire suspected to have been deliberately started, completed gutted their Cummings Lodge apartment.

The dead persons have been identified as 40-year-old Beverly Williams, her 46-year-old husband, Marvin Ifill and 14-year-old son Dawall Ifill.

The charred remains were found in the ashes of the Sixth Street Cummings Lodge property after firemen managed to put out the blaze earlier tonight.

It is suspected that the three were trapped in their apartment which was heavily grilled and the fire might have been started in an adjoining apartment at the property.

A relative of the dead persons explained that the property was in dispute between the relatives of its owner who passed away recently. One of the late owner’s relatives was reportedly trying to get all tenants out of the building.

A man who was seen earlier at the apartment where the fire started has been arrested. An investigation is underway.
