A senior GDF Official confirmed to News Source that the three cadets were part of a navigational training exercise and it is suspected that they might have lost their way.

Three GDF Officer Cadets on a training programme in Tacama, Upper Demerara-Berbice have been reported missing. The Guyana Defence Force has launched a massive search operation for them.

A senior GDF Official confirmed to News Source that the three cadets were part of a navigational training exercise and it is suspected that they might have lost their way.

They have not been heard from or seen since Sunday.

The GDF operates a military camp in the Tacama area where it conducts various aspects of military training.

Many of the training programmes offered at the location, includes geography and navigation. There have been other incidents of soldiers going off track during their training across the Tacama area.

The names of the missing cadets have not been released and multiple efforts are ongoing to locate them.

UPDATE: The cadets were located safe and well this afternoon.
