Police have arrested a 26-year-old woman from Foulis on the East Coast of Demerara after she stabbed her toddler to death on Saturday morning.
The dead child was just three years old. His name has been given as Ramdeo Perneia.
The mother’s name is Brenda Ferreira.
The woman has reportedly told investigators that she dreamt that she was going to die today and so she made a decision to take her “favourite child” with her on that after death journey.
The toddler was stabbed twice. Once to the left side chest and the other to the back.
His small body was taken to the Georgetown Hospital where doctors pronounced him dead. The mother was immediately arrested and has been speaking to investigators.
An investigation is underway.
