Travelspan launches Guyana/NY service with $647 fare

As Guyanese gear up for a bust Christmas travel season, Guyanese owned airline Travelspan has announced that it will begin its Georgetown/New York non stop service on Saturday, December 14 with an inaugural flight from New York.

According to the airline, it will offer twice weekly flights between Georgetown and New York. “Round trip tickets between New York and Guyana cost US$647, while one way tickets are US$349 – both prices being tax inclusive. This spells good news for Guyanese travelers who have faced high airfares over the past few months”, a release from the company stated.

The airline will be using a Boeing 767 aircraft for its direct service between the two destinations.

The 18 year-old company, with head office based in the United States of America, is no stranger to the Guyanese market, having offered chartered flights before halting in 2008.

The company’s return comes at a time when Guyanese travelers are looking for cheaper tickets between Guyana and New York. The company promises that it intends to stick around this time with a schedule service. Trinidad and Tobago is also expected to be added to its schedule soon.
