Tucville woman remanded for marijuana found under bed

The Court was told that on the 26th March at Perry Street, Tucville in Georgetown the woman who works in marketing, had the 37 pounds of marijuana in her possession for the purpose of trafficking. Bail was refused and the young woman will make her next Court appearance on the 14th April.

Tucville woman remanded for marijuana found under bed

A 19-year-old woman from Tucville who was arrested following the discovery of more than 37 pounds of marijuana at her home was today charged and remanded to jail.

The accused, Anasia McAllister appeared before the Chief Magistrate this morning and the charge was read to her.

The Court was told that on the 26th March at Perry Street, Tucville in Georgetown the woman who works in marketing, had the 37 pounds of marijuana in her possession for the purpose of trafficking. Bail was refused and the young woman will make her next Court appearance on the 14th April.

The illegal drug was discovered during a search operation by the Police.  The search was triggered by intelligence gathering.

In a statement, CANU said that during the search, the agents found two brown boxes under the woman’s bed with the large quantity of marijuana in several packages.

The accused was immediately arrested and told of the charge that she is now facing.
