Two 19-year-old men arrested after raw gold robbery

The Police in a statement said 24-year-old, Hanson Forde, and his mother, Dawn Martin, were in the bottom flat of their two-storey home conversing, when the suspects pounced on them through an eastern door which was left opened.

Two 19-year-old men have been arrested by Police and are facing questioning after a Crane Housing Scheme man and his mother were robbed at gunpoint in their home of two ounces of raw gold, gold jewellery, cellphones and $60,000 cash.

The incident took place just after 8:00pm on Tuesday.

The Police in a statement said 24-year-old, Hanson Forde, and his mother, Dawn Martin, were in the bottom flat of their two-storey home conversing, when the suspects pounced on them through an eastern door which was left opened.

One of the armed men, discharged two rounds towards the ceiling and relieved the mother and son of the the gold and other valuables. 

Two .32 spent shells were discovered at the scene and based on the police investigations, the two suspected robbers were taken into custody.

The probe continues.
