Two Guyanese wanted for drug bust at Trinidad Airport

The Customs Anti Narcotics Unit of Guyana has issued wanted bulletins for two Guyanese men in connection with a drug bust that took place at Trinidad’s Piarco Airport on Thursday.

Wanted for questioning in connection with the drug bust are 30-year-old, Caleb Habeed Caesar of Garnett Street, Newtown and 37-year-old Philip Carlos Jermin Lovell of Guyhoc Park.

The two are wanted for questioning in connection with the discovery of a quantity of cocaine which was found hidden in boxes of raw pepper and ochro.

News Source understands that the Trinidadian authorities found close to 10 pounds of cocaine hidden in boxes containing the products. The discovery was made on a Caribbean Airlines flight that had just arrived in Trinidad and Tobago from Guyana. The flight’s final destination was New York city.

CANU has not released information about the person/s or the company that should have received the cocaine laden vegetable shipment in the United States. And it is unclear how the cocaine shipment went unnoticed by Guyanese authorities and airport security at the Cheddi Jagan Airport.

The Customs Anti Narcotics Unit is asking for anyone who may have information about the whereabouts of the two men to make contact with the CANU office or the nearest police station.
