The 34-year-old self-employed woman of New Street Cumberland, Canje Berbice was preparing to board a Caribbean Airlines flight on Monday morning when the bust was made.

According to the Police force, as the woman was going through security and check-in, she was behaving in a suspicious manner.

A search of her suitcases revealed 12 powder milk packets among her clothing.

The officers at the Airport decided to carry out a test of the contents of one of the packets, and the result came back positive for cocaine.

The woman reportedly admitted to the crime of drug trafficking and explained that she was given the items by an unnamed man to take to the island.

Based on the information, the Police investigators were able to track down and arrest another suspect who claimed that although he provided the woman with the milk packages, he was unaware of cocaine being inside of them.

Both persons are now in custody and charges are to be filed against them soon.
