A national Under-19 cricketer and his girlfriend are in the custody of the Customs Anti Narcotics Unit following the discovery of over 20 pounds of cocaine in a gas cylinder.

The bust was made on Sunday after CANU agents carried out a search at the Delph Avenue, Campbellville house.

The two 17-year-olds were the only two occupants of the house at the time of the discovery.

The cocaine was found in nine large packages stashed in the cooking gas cylinder which had a false bottom.  The young cricketer who has represented Guyana internationally, reportedly works with a businessman who has had previous brushes with the law.

The house where the cocaine was found, is reportedly owned by the same businessman.

The investigation is ongoing.
