Three suspected bandits, including one who was wanted for murder, were shot dead by Police this afternoon in the Black Push Polder community in Berbice.

One of the dead bandits has been identified as Kelvin Shivgobin, who was wanted for the Old Year’s Night murder of two brothers in the Berbice area during a robbery. The other two dead bandits are still to be identified.

News Source understand that the Police in the community were on high alert after a spate of violent robberies targeting villages in the Berbice area.

The three men were reportedly tracked down by Police following three robberies over the past two days in the same community.

Last week, the Police dispatched a special team to the area to address the crime problem and the concern of citizens.

Details of the incident this afternoon are still emerging.
