West Coast man stabs wife to death, leaves daughter tied up
Police investigators have launched a massive search for a Crane, West Coast Demerara man, who stabbed his 30-year-old wife to death but left the woman’s 11-year-old daughter tied up and gagged.
The dead woman has been identified as Candy Rawlins of Crane Housing Scheme, West Coast Demerara. Her body was found in a pool of blood with multiple stab wounds to the neck in the couple’s house on Friday morning.
It was the 11-year-old who the man tied to a chair and gagged her mouth with scotch tape, that managed to free herself and inform  neighbours of what had taken place.
The incident has sent shock waves through the community and some residents intend to assist the police with the search for the suspect. It is believed that the young child may have witnessed the incident leading up to her mother’s gruesome murder and the murder itself.
The probe continues.
