Police investigators are probing the murder of a 28-year-old West Bank Demerara woman who was stabbed to death by her husband on Thursday afternoon. The woman has been identified as Donessa Barker.
According to reports, the woman and her husband would have regular arguments and he would make threats against her.
The man, Allan Barker, reportedly became incensed when he arrived home on Thursday to meet the house locked. He allegedly made his way into the house through a window and used a kitchen knife to murder the woman while the two argued.

He ran from the scene after the murder and has not been seen since. Investigators have been searching a number of villages on the West Bank of Demerara and have been speaking with some of his relatives.
There are reports that earlier on Thursday, the woman filed a police complaint against her husband after several threats.
The two had been married for just over a year.
