According to the police, a post-mortem examination was conducted on the body of 25-year-old Ulena Charles and her six month old baby girl early Wednesday morning and foul play was ruled out.

The mother and her baby whose bodies were found badly decomposed in their Grove, East Bank Demerara home died from starvation and pneumonia according to a report of the post-mortem examination.

The discovery of the bodies were made on Friday night.

According to the police, a post-mortem examination was conducted on the body of 25-year-old Ulena Charles and her six month old baby girl early Wednesday morning and foul play was ruled out.

Persons in the area had summoned the police to the house to investigate the source of a rotting stench that was coming from the house.

Although the woman did not interact much with persons in the area, she was not seen leaving the house for a number of days. The woman lived in the house with the child while her husband worked at an interior location.
