At the Georgetown Magistrates’ Court today, 22-year-old, Dwayne Christiani was charged for causing death by dangerous driving. He was placed on $400,000 bail.

The young man is accused of driving his car in a dangerous manner, which resulted in him slamming into a car being driven by William Stanford.

The injured man was rushed to the hospital but passed away five days later while undergoing treatment for multiple injuries.

The incident took place on the 22nd April in Eccles. Attorney Keoma Griffith, who is representing the accused told the court that his client has been co-operating with the Police and is not a flight risk.

He asked for reasonable bail to be granted and the Magistrate set that bail at $400,000.

The 22-year-old will make his next court appearance on May 12, 2017.
